Where are Gaskets, Inc. products made?
All of our tadpole seals, expansion joints and flex ducts are sewn, welded, and assembled at our facility in South Central Wisconsin by our skilled production team.

How do you mount tadpole seals?
Tadpole seals can be mounted in a variety of different manners, the most common is using fasteners, rivets or screws through the “tail” (flat flange section of the tadpole seal). We also see occasional use of high temperature adhesives depending on the application.

What is the best way to mount extruded silicone seals?
High Temperature RTV Silicone sealant is best in most applications.

What are the most resilient tadpole seals offered?
Our most resilient tadpoles are those with either an Inconel Wire Mesh (D core) or 304 stainless steel core (C core and S core). These cores average around an 80% recovery when compressed to one half of the free bulb diameter, when compressive load is removed.

What seal is best for my application and how resistant are tadpole seals to chemicals, abrasive environments and extreme temperatures?

Flexducts and expansion joints are used in a wide variety of applications to accommodate for thermal movement and also used as a vibration dampener.

What types of steel are available for the expansion joints?
We have 304 stainless steel and mild steel that we use to manufacture the frames of the expansion joints. Angle iron thickness and width varies, depending on customer drawings.

Are your custom-made flexducts built to withstand negative or positive pressure?
We can build flexducts for both applications and have designs to specifically fit each application best.

What does Gaskets, Inc. require in order to quote an expansion joint or flex duct?
We will need a dimensional drawing of the flanges, steel requirements, and flexduct sleeve requirements. If you are unsure of any of these one of our experienced sales team members can help you out.
